Quick Post On My New Accessories (forever 21)

This is the "kiss & tell" necklace from Forever 21. I picked it up today for a mere $4.80! Looove it! The chain is long but has multiple links so you can change your length. It also comes in gold, but I like silver it matches more things I wear. The charms are red lips, a key, and 2 hearts (one that says forever and one that has chain tassels.) Super cute and fun accessory!

I picked up these super cute earrings at Forever 21 today for $7.80. LOOOVE this style, medium sized hoops with rhinestones all the way around. Can be dressed up or down and they are so sparkly!

The last accessory I picked up at Forever 21 was this super cute anchor necklace! ($5.80) I thought it would be so cute with a white tee or tank and jeans with some cute heels! :) I looove accessories because they can make your outfits look totally different!

All in all the 3 acessories set me back around $20 is all! I can wear the earrings with either necklace and all of the jewelery can be dressed up or down!

You don't have to spend a lot to change up your look! Accessories are a cheap way to change up your wardrobe!

Best places to buy jeans (on a budget!)

I have a few places I love to shop for jeans, not only because of the price, but because they always have CUTE styles! I can't guarantee that any of the jeans on my list will fit your body PERFECTLY (unfortunately as many professional stylists will tell you, that only comes with trying and trying on jeans. Don't give up hope in your search for jeans, and know you are not the only woman who has trouble finding a great fitting pair!

So first I will start by helping you identify YOUR body type, the help you to find a pair of jeans (at a great price) to flatter your body type. Are you ready?

1.

Body type A- You Have

-Small to medium frame
-Narrow or sloped shoulders
-Small to medium bust
-Slim torso and a narrow rib cage
-Small waist
-Full lower hips and bottom
-Full legs

2.

Body Type B- You Have

-Small to medium frame
-Average to full bust
-Small to average, defined waist
-Curvy hips
-Round, average to full bottom
-Shapely legs

3.

Body Type C- You have

-Average to broad shoulders (wider than your hips is broad)
-Medium to very full bust line
-Straight, short-to-average waist
-Narrow hips
-Often, a flat rather than rounded bottom
-Slim legs

4.(please forgive the HORRIBLE artistry I had to fix the last 3)

Body Type D- You Have

-Narrow or sloping shoulders
-Small to medium bust (proportionate to your shoulders)
-Full waist
-Wide hips
-Very full thighs and calves

5. (again the artistry SUCKS, sorry)

Body Type E- (This is MY body type if that gives you a frame of reference)You have

-Full, round neck
-Average to broad shoulders and a wide, often rounded, back
-Full, rounded bust
-Full, defined waist
-Hips in proportion with your shoulders
-Shapely legs

6.

Last but not least, Body Type F- You Have

-Full neck
-Broad shoulders
-Average to full bust
-Broad rib cage and full torso
-Undefined, full waist (often short)
-Flat bottom
-Slim legs

Now for the fun part!

Body Type A Jeans-

Straight leg, low waist, flat front with minimal details (pockets, pleats etc). Make sure they are not too snug in the leg which will accentuate the fullness of your lower body. Your waistband should hit your low waist to high hip to flatter the point where your upper and lower body meet.

Here a couple ideas:

You can pick up these adorable jeans at Wet Seal (or www.wetseal.com) for around $26.50 but they are ALWAYS having sales, so if that's a little steep for you, be patient and watch for a sale! They always have TONS of jeans, and some of them as low as $21.50! LOVE wet seal jeans!

Body Type B Jeans- Dark stretch denim and depending on how big your booty is, and how loooong your legs are you can try varying hem widths from boot cut to flares. The basic idea with this body type is you cant to accentuate the curve of your hips without exaggerating it.

Here is an example:

Again, I found these at Wet Seal (www.wetseal.com) and these totally cute jeans are on sale right now for $15.00!!! (normally, $24.50 that's almost $10 off!)

Body Type C Jeans-

This is the LUCKIEST body type, you can wear ANY and ALL jeans you deisre! Take your pick, from skinny to boot cut, dark to light the jean world is your oyster!

Here is an idea-

I love these stitched up flare jeans! Totally cute ($29.50 at Wet Seal)

Body Type D Jeans-

Look for a contoured waist (higher rise in the back than in the front) and go for dark blue or black stretch denim. Never wear a tight leg (no skinny jeans!) try for more of a full leg with a slight flare at the hem.

Here is an example (or 2)-

both of these jeans I found online at Forever21.com through their Faith 21 (extended sizes) line. Both pairs on $19.80 each.

Body Type E-

Now since this is my body type I could go on for days and days about where to find good fitting jeans, but I won't. If you have the same body type as me and would like more ideas of where to find jeans, leave me a comment, email me or find me on facebook!

Straight leg or a relaxed bootcut, slight width at the hem is good and helps make your lower body look longer. Choose dark stretch denims! This body type will look good in either pair of jean from Body Type D OR this pair below also! ( I actually own these jeans and LOOOVE them, get complimented on them quite often too)

Body Type F jeans:

Contoured waist line, boot cut dark denim jeans!

Check out any of D or E's jeans- they should work for you too!!

I hope this has been helpful to you, and given you the confidence to know you can go out into the world of a MILLION pairs of jeans armed with the knowledge that there is a pair that you will LOVE :) (AND you don't have to spend a lot on them)

Easy Natural Make Up (with a video)

This make up routine is what I do almost every day (unless I really want to go crazy and wear more make up). It's fast, easy and really looks great! First, I will lay out the essentials for you to have to get this look.

1. Foundation- I use one of two sets of products for my face, it just depends on the state of my face that day. If I'm having major oil overload I will use Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Foundation in Ivory ($3.50-$5.00 depending on where you shop) and the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent ($3.50 to $5.00 again, depending on where you shop). It helps suck up some of the excess moisture and keeps my face matte (no extra shine).

If it's a normal skin day I use Maybelline New York Mineral Power Liquid Foundtaion in ($9.00-$10.00 at walmart, pricey yes but worth it) and Maybelline New York Mineral Power Powder in Translucent ($9.00-$10.00).

2. Eyebrow pencil- I feel it is important for every woman to fill in her brows, the brows really frame your eyes and help (As Anna Faris said in "The Housebunny" "The eyes are the nipples of the face". I use NYC brand ($.99-$1.50!) in Taupe #927 . I brush my brows with a brow brush (you can find this at ANY drug store) in an upward motion (I will illustrate this on the video) and then lightly fill in my brows, brushing them again after the application of the color.

3. Eyeliner (optional)- Eyeliner ( in the right color) can really make your eyes pop! If you have blue eyes brown liner is best, if you have green use purple, hazel use green or purple and for brown eyes use blue! Black is universally flattering IF IT IS USED CORRECTLY! Don't go too heavy on it ladies! I have 2 liners that are my favorite to use; if I use black I love Morbid Makeup eyeliner in black (I pick this up at Hot Topic for $1.99) or NYC eyeliner in "Through The Storm" (It's a dual sided liner, one side is black and one side is a really pretty purple $1.99). If you have watery eyes, or severe allergies I recommend you do one of two things- either use a water proof eyeliner or NEVER put liner on your water line or bottom lid.

4. Eyeshadow- This eyeshadow is my absolute favorite and I have used it for YEARS!

It's Bonne Bell eyeshadow quad in "Cafe Classics"

For this particular look I use either the top color (the white) or the bottom (the lightest brown). This quad is all browns with silver sheen, and it looks great on my light skin, if you have more natural deep tones I think more gold sheen would look best on you!

5. Mascara- I, like many of you, have searched and searched for a GREAT mascara. I think I have finally stumbled upon it. Hard Candy "Ginormous Lash Volumizing Mascara" I get MAJOR lashes with out curling, and it doesn't flake! (www.hardcandy.com I picked mine up at the local Leesville wal*mart! [the site will take you to walmarts site and you can order it from there also] $6.00)

6. Lip gloss- There are a few glosses I use regularly, 2 are by Lip Smackers one in Vanilla Cupcake (a sheer silver tinted gloss) and Java Jolt (a nude/tan colored gloss with a gold tint) and my newest favorite is by Rimmel it is Vinyl Lipgloss in "Punk Princess" and yellowish tint with gold tones. Any of these work great for the natural look. (I couldn't find images for the lip glosses AND sadly the RIMMEL color I use has been discontinued [OF COURSE])

Hair Care on the Cheap!

I have tried A LOT of shampoo and conditioner in my life, and I cannot think of one shampoo and conditioner combo I have loved as much as this-
Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality (Shampoo & Conditioner $4.63 each). First thing I love about this product is- it smells SOOOO good! I wish I had the time to shower and wash my hair 3 times a day, just to keep my hair smelling like this shampoo! Second- It has helped restrengthen my hair, I have less breakage and less frizz, which is so great considering I heat style my hair every day! I definitely recommend this shampoo and conditioner to all hair types. I have very oily hair and it moisturizes my ends that I need moisturized and doesn't over moisturize my roots, which is so great!

I just put my hair through the ringer about 3 weeks ago...I bleached it all out, then dyed it, then bleached it and dyed it again! So I was looking for something to help repair the horrible damage I had just done to my hair, so I purchased Pantene Pro-V Fortifying Fortifier Deep Fortifying Treatment ($4.73) (A LOT of fortifyers for one product name I know, but it WORKS!) It promises to undo 3 months of damage in 3 minutes, and it is recommended that you use it once a week. I have used it 3 times, and every time I use it my hair looks better and better! Again, I'm usually wary of using a deep moisture treatment, but I can use this treatment root to tip for the full 3 minutes and not have a problem with greasy roots at all!

I use the shampoo & conditioner every day and I use the Fortifying Fortifier once a week, and I have seen great results!

Remember, you don't need to spend a lot to look great! Happy Shopping!!!

Easy Sexy Waves (with a video!!)

Today's post is about the easy, sexy waves I have been sporting the past couple days.

This look is unbelievably easy to achieve and is a great look that can be dressed up or down. To get this look you need a 1 inch curling iron and some light but stong hold hairspray,

I use Sunsilk: hold me forever ($2.99 at Wal*Mart), which for me stands up against the intense humidity here in Louisiana. Also, I use the aerosol can instead of the spray bottle.

I prep my hair with Dove Heat Defense Therapy Heat Activated Protect & Shine Mist. ($3.99 at Wal*Mart)

and V05 Detangle & Shine Daily Leave In Conditioner ($4.50 at Wal*Mart)

I bleach my hair so it helps repair some of the damage, but these 2 products are totally optional as well as the shine serum I use after I finish styling my hair.

The shine serum I use is Special Effects Silk Drops ($5.00 at Wal*Mart, and it lasts FOREVER because you hardly use any of it!)

Here's a step by step video to show you how to achieve these easy, sexy waves! Have fun with it :)

Trend Watch- Spring 2010

So here we are, another season approaching us, and most of us women are wondering what the newest "trends" will be for Spring 2010! Well I am here with the answers, AND how to take looks they put on stick thin models and translate it to everyday looks AND to put it on YOUR real body! So here we go...(drum roll please!)

1. Trend # 1 NEUTRAL colors: Designers from Donna Karan to Marc Jacobs were showing off elegant evening gowns in neutral (mostly NUDE) colors. The dress in the first picture is $275 (OUCH!!)

This dress is $24.99 at Old Navy and still, so super cute! Don't be afraid to check your local Wal*Mart and Target either, I have found some amazing pieces at those stores.

For those of us with "a little more to love" Forever 21 has an "extended sizes" line called Faith 21...I found this fabulous dress online for a mere $19.80 GORGEOUS!!

This trend is showing up on bags, shoes, belts, dresses, shirts, pants and skirts!

2. Next trend- Cut outs/sheer fabrics. For those of us that don't dare to do the extreme cut outs, you can always find cute ways to wear sheer fabrics.

This dress
is $32.80 at Forever 21 (or forever21.com)

I found this top at Torrid.com (a plus size store, their prices are more on the high end for me BUT you can always find great stuff in their clearance section!!) This top is $32.80 @ torrid or torrid.com it's a great way to sport the peek-a-boo/cut out trend! Look for this trend in tops, shoes, skirts and dresses.

3. Metallics!!!

These fabulous shoes I found on forever21.com for $23.8o, I also found several pairs of metallic shoes on payless.com :) Again, this trend is available for everything! Shoes, bags, belts, tops, dresses and pants! You can wear a full on metallic sheen top or a basic top with metallic accents.

4. FEATHERS- This top I found AGAIN online at forever21.com for $19.80 (are you as in love with forever 21's prices as I am?!)

This adorable headband is only $6.80 at forever 21 (and forever21.com). This trend is mostly accented on tops and dresses and is also showing up on earrings, necklaces and hair accessories.

So there are my favorite trends of Spring 2010! I'm so glad that the 80's seem to be exiting the scene!

Thanks for reading and remember, you don't have to spend a lot to look great!

All Wined Up!

This, friends and neighbors is my new favorite nail polish! GORGEOUS dark red wine color (thus the name "Wined Up") and it lasts! I get three days of hard house work and hand washing dishes before I start seeing chips! Also, it's "insta-dri" and I promise, it does dry FAST! I love the new style of brush, it's flat instead of round with makes for a smoother application. The only draw back to this color, is it MAJORLY stains your nails. So, if your going to use this color, us it for a while or when your done with this opt for another dark color until it fades. It also has a killer price of $2.99, (see BUDGET FRIENDLY! Especially when you compare the brand most celebs wear, Chanel, at $49.95 a bottle!! YIKES!), and it's worth every little penny (300 pennies if you're counting!)

Dark colored nails is a HUGE trend right now, Eva Mendes, Jessica Simpson, Holly Madison, Jennifer Lopez and Bridget Marquardt (to name a few) have all been spotted sporting this trend!

Any dark color is rockin', blue, black, red, green and purple all look fabulous and can be dressed up or down, be girly or punk. Have fun with it!

As always, remember you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to have todays HOTTEST trends!

Here We Go!....

Today's fashion topic is a new product I'm obsessed with! It's not a "new" product in the sense that it just came out, it's that I just discovered it! I went to the p/x where they have a lovely variety of luxury cosmetics and products for a great price. I purchased Clinique's Acne Solutions 3 step kit, it has a foam facial cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer. It was relatively inexpensive (considering the price for other acne treatment lines) at $26.50. I've been using it for about a week and I am so impressed by my results. My face is clearing up quickly, but I do have to say I am using it as directed on the package (once in the morning and once at night) and I have VERY oily skin...and this has REALLY dried my face out. I am having to use a secondary moisturizer to avoid excess peeling. So my advice is, if you have dry or normal skin, go easy and only use it once a day or once every other day.

So that's it for my first post! Thanks for reading, and remember you don't have to spend a lot to look amazing!
